We go on-site when needed. We analyze the process before proposing anything. And we manufacture each piece of equipment with the operator in mind and the conditions in which it will operate. That’s what our clients expect—and that’s what we deliver.

For confidentiality reasons, we do not identify our clients. What we can show is the type of challenge we faced and how we solved it.

OIL & GAS

The challenge

A continuously operating plant needed to replace two high-precision heat exchangers without extended shutdowns. Deadlines were strict, the installation could not afford errors, and there was simply no room for improvisation.

The solution

We received the original units, carried out a comprehensive dimensional survey, and verified thicknesses and geometry with precision. We did not simply replicate them: we identified opportunities for energy improvement and incorporated optimizations that increased efficiency compared to the replaced units.

The result

The heat exchangers were commissioned within the agreed timeframe, enabling an orderly replacement without compromising production continuity. A major company in the sector, listed on the IBEX 35, which continues to trust us today.

BIOPLASTICS

The challenge

A bioplastics production plant in the Netherlands required a large gas-to-gas heat exchanger for its Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer. The requirements were multiple and simultaneous: strict technical certifications, guaranteed thermal performance, and on-time delivery. The reason was critical: if gases were not cooled to the required temperature before reaching the bag filters, they would be irreversibly damaged, resulting in very high replacement costs.

The solution

BOIXAC designed a 621 kW gas-to-gas heat exchanger specifically adapted to the process conditions and certification requirements. The unit ensures precise cooling of the gases before entering the filtration system, protecting downstream components.

The result

On-time delivery, full certification compliance, and thermal performance in line with specifications. The bag filters operate within their safe temperature range from startup. An international project that demonstrates BOIXAC’s ability to meet technical and logistical demands beyond Spain.

The challenge

One of Spain’s most emblematic metallurgical companies needed to recover residual heat from its smelting gases. Energy was being lost in every production cycle, and the objective was clear: use it to preheat fresh air and reduce the plant’s energy consumption.

The solution

BOIXAC designed and supplied a 3,603 kW industrial air preheater that recovers heat from process gases and transfers it to fresh air. A high-capacity unit designed to integrate into a demanding continuous process, with strict durability and efficiency criteria.

The result

The installation enables recovery of energy that was previously dissipated, with a direct and measurable impact on plant consumption. Beyond the economic benefit, the project contributed to reducing the environmental footprint of a key player in the national metallurgy sector.

The challenge

A leading company in the Spanish food market had long faced an unresolved issue: heat exchangers installed by another supplier were not functioning properly. They contacted us seeking a real solution before their next scheduled shutdown.

The solution

We analyzed the case from the ground up, without assumptions. The diagnosis confirmed a design flaw in the previous supplier’s equipment that prevented proper operation. The challenge

Two major Spanish corporate groups—one in the food sector and another in energy—needed to improve the efficiency of their air heaters in a biogas plant. Operating conditions were particularly harsh: continuous exposure to slurry and a high concentration of airborne particles. This was not an environment for standard equipment.

The solution

BOIXAC designed and supplied a high-resistance industrial air heater specifically engineered to maintain performance over time under such severe conditions. Every construction detail responded to the real installation environment.

The unit performed exactly as expected. The client extended their trust in us for subsequent projects at the same facility. Their feedback was straightforward: “This unit performs exceptionally well.”

The challenge

A global leader in oilseed processing and production of vegetable oils and fats needed to upgrade the economizer system of its boilers. Contractual conditions left no margin for error: financial penalties for delays and for insufficient thermal performance. It had to be right the first time.

The solution

BOIXAC supplied a cost-competitive economizer system, incorporating a proprietary improvement over the original design: a removable system that facilitates inspection and periodic cleaning, reducing future maintenance time and cost. The marine environment was considered in material selection and design decisions.

The result

Delivery exactly on schedule, with no deviation. Thermal performance not only met contractual specifications but exceeded them. When contractual pressure is at its highest, results are the only valid response.

The challenge

A dairy plant experienced failure of its heat exchanger due to severe corrosion caused by process brine. Production stopped immediately. Every hour of downtime had a direct cost, and the client urgently needed a replacement unit.

The solution

BOIXAC designed and supplied a high-purity titanium plate-and-frame heat exchanger—the material with the highest resistance to chloride and brine corrosion in food processing applications. From order receipt to plant delivery: 5 days.

The result

Commissioning without incident. The heat exchanger has operated without corrosion issues since then. Sometimes the right solution and the urgent solution are exactly the same.

The challenge

A leading producer of high-quality industrial minerals aimed to modernize its processes and reduce energy consumption. The environment was dusty and demanding, with limited space constraining any technical solution.

The solution

BOIXAC designed and installed a system of multiple air-to-air heat exchangers, with inspection and cleaning access adapted to a high-particle environment. Each unit was sized to fit the available space without compromising performance.

The result

The system recovers 1,184 kW of thermal energy that was previously lost. Return on investment was achieved in less than 6 months. Maintenance operations are now faster and simpler thanks to the accessible design.

The challenge

One of the world’s largest oil, gas, and petrochemical companies required a crossflow heat exchanger for a melamine plant designed to minimize environmental impact by utilizing urea production residues. The required capacity was modest, but the demands were not: every possible kW had to be recovered, with complex process engineering and top-tier certifications.

The solution

BOIXAC developed a high-efficiency crossflow heat exchanger optimized for the specific process conditions. The supply included material certificates, welder qualifications, welding procedures, dimensional checks, and pressure testing—full technical documentation required by a client of this level.

The result

A demanding project not due to capacity, but due to the precision of analysis and engineering required to meet efficiency targets. Delivery complied with all technical and documentation specifications. A project in Asia that confirms BOIXAC’s ability to operate internationally at the highest standards.

The challenge

A company specialized in pharmaceutical engineering and ethylene oxide sterilization systems required heat exchangers capable of operating under extreme temperature conditions, with the hygiene, traceability, and precision demanded by the pharmaceutical sector. There was no margin for compromise in materials or dimensional tolerances.

BOIXAC supplied finned tube heat exchangers manufactured entirely in stainless steel, with complete technical documentation and full material traceability. Each unit was custom-designed and manufactured to fit precisely within the client’s sterilization systems.

Reliability

The challenge

A European manufacturer of equipment for the electronics industry was seeking a reliable supplier of serial heat exchangers for integration into systems destined for the North American market. Previous suppliers failed to meet their standards. An additional challenge was dimensional: the exchangers had to fit into very tight spaces, with millimeter tolerances.

The solution

BOIXAC took over the regular supply of continuous fin heat exchangers, incorporating proprietary design improvements to facilitate integration into the client’s equipment. Each unit is manufactured with strict dimensional control to ensure precise fit during assembly.

The result

An ongoing supply relationship built on trust and consistent compliance with quality standards. BOIXAC units are integrated into high-precision machinery shipped to the North American market.

CHEMICAL

The challenge

A company in the laboratory chemicals and reagents sector had long faced an issue the previous supplier could not solve: the installed heat exchanger became flooded with condensate, blocking the process. They requested a solution that could be installed without modifying existing ducts, fans, or connections.

The solution

We visited the site to assess the issue firsthand. The diagnosis was clear: the previous unit had not been designed for the real process conditions. BOIXAC developed a 188 kW stainless steel finned tube heat exchanger with aluminum fins, optimized to prevent condensate accumulation and precisely dimensioned to fit the existing infrastructure.

The result

The new unit was installed without modifying any peripheral components. The condensate issue disappeared from the first startup. Rigorous diagnosis and custom manufacturing solved what a standard unit could not.
