PAPER INDUSTRY HEAT EXCHANGERS
DRYING AND SAVING IN THE PAPER INDUSTRY
The paper is the result of the improvement of previous papyri, actively contributing to the study and dissemination of technical and cultural knowledge.
From its origins to the present day, production has evolved in order to improve its quality, as well as the efficiency and optimization of resources, mainly pulp, water and energy.
At BOIXAC we work in the field of paper through the design of heat exchangers that reduce energy consumption. We highlight three main blocks:
1. Paper drying is done by different methods such as steam heated cylinders or hot air curtains. At this point BOIXAC intervenes with equipment such as finned heat exchangers, designed to withstand high pressures and corrosive environments such as cellulose and steam.
2. Energy recovery is essential in a paper industry that requires large amounts of energy. The steam from the cylinders that can be used for the drying process can come from a boiler. Here BOIXAC specializes in cross-flow, air-to-air or air-to-exhaust gas exchangers, which manage to pre-heat the inlet air of the boilers, thus minimizing their consumption. An essential factor for optimizing environmental responsibility and aligning with the European Green Pact.
3. The treatment of wastewater from the cleaning and drying process is important in order to ensure a certain temperature that allows the correct chemical and biological processing. With our heat and fluid exchange coils, suitable for fluids with solid contents, we control the temperature of the water in the tanks as well as their energy recovery.
